What are the prerequisites for the Rescue Diver course?

You need a valid Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) from any recognized agency — PRO ISO 24801, SSI, NAUI, CMAS, ADIP, or others. You must also complete the Emergency First Response (EFR) course, which can be done immediately before or alongside the Rescue Diver course at Sanctum Dive.

Do I need to complete EFR before Rescue Diver?

Yes — EFR is a mandatory prerequisite for the Rescue Diver certification. However, you can complete both courses back-to-back at Sanctum Dive. The EFR takes 1 full day, followed by the 3-day Rescue Diver course. Plan for 4 days total.

What is the difference between PRO ISO 24801, SSI, and ADIP for Rescue?

All three agencies produce internationally recognized Rescue Diver certifications. The training content and skills are equivalent across all agencies. PRO ISO 24801 is the most widely recognized standard globally, SSI offers excellent value, and ADIP is the most cost-effective option. All certifications are accepted worldwide.

Is the Rescue Diver course physically demanding?

The Rescue Diver course is more physically and mentally challenging than previous courses. You will practice towing divers, performing surface rescues, and managing emergency scenarios. A reasonable level of fitness and comfort in the water is recommended. Your instructor will pace the training to your ability.

Can I see manta rays during my rescue course dives?

Yes! Your rescue scenario dives take place at the same world-class Nusa Penida dive sites, including daily trips to Manta Point where manta rays are spotted approximately 90% of the time. Many students encounter mantas while practicing their rescue skills.

Do I need to register separately for EFR?

When you book the Rescue Diver course with us, simply let us know and we will schedule both your EFR and Rescue Diver training together. Pricing for each is listed separately so you can see the full cost upfront.

What happens after I become a Rescue Diver?

Rescue Diver certification is the gateway to professional-level diving. Your next step is the Divemaster course, where you begin leading dives and assisting instructors. It is also the prerequisite for all professional and technical diving programs.

What is your cancellation policy?
