Yes. Snorkeling in the open ocean at Manta Point requires you to be an experienced, confident swimmer. There is no instructor in the water by default, though you can hire a private guide for an additional IDR 400,000.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer to snorkel?

Yes. Snorkeling in Nusa Penida takes place in the open ocean where currents and swells are common. By default, there is no instructor in the water holding your hand. If you are not a confident swimmer, we strongly advise against booking. If you wish to hire a private guide to assist you in the water, it is an additional IDR 400,000.

What is the chance of seeing Manta Rays?

We have approximately a 90% success rate of seeing Manta Rays daily at Manta Point. However, they are wild animals in the open ocean, so sightings can never be 100% guaranteed. Please note that full price is still charged even if marine life is not spotted.

Can we mix divers and snorkelers on a Private Charter?

Yes! A private charter includes the activity for a maximum of 5 divers OR 14 snorkelers. You can mix the group (e.g., 2 divers and 8 snorkelers). Any extra people beyond the maximum limits will be charged at our normal daily rates.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety is our top priority. The Captain has the final say. If conditions at Manta Point are unsafe, the boat will reroute to safer, beautiful reef sites on the north coast. If you choose to opt-out entirely due to the reroute, a mandatory 300,000 IDR surcharge applies to cover boat preparations.
